Items for Apartment Set-up
After each resident moves out of our program, a devoted group of volunteers visits New Life Community and re-sets their apartment so that our new residents can move in. We rely on your donations in order to give the residents a fresh start on life. Most of our residents arrive here with very little, sometimes nothing but the clothes on their backs. We encourage residents to take all of the household items we have provided them with when they leave, so that they are prepared for their new housing.

Furniture
Once our residents graduate from the program and ready to start a new life for themselves, they still need assistance with finding larger items. Even the cost of providing beds for two children can take most of a paycheck. Graduating residents have ongoing needs for beds, seating, tables, and even appliances.
Donated furniture is generally not used in New Life Community’s apartments, but is given directly to graduates and graduating residents who need “big ticket” items for their new housing.
If you are interested in donating furniture, or you have a question about what to donate, please contact:

Clothing & Accessories
New Life Community gratefully accepts business attire for women and general clothing for children. Providing work clothing for our residents is a core component of our job-training activities, and often gives our clients a leg up at interviews.
Examples of clothing needs:
Spring/Summer: business suit with blouse/sweater/shirt or business dress, light jacket, close-toed heels.
Fall/Winter: Long coat, dress snow boots, and a pantsuit with a sweater or blouse.
Children: New and gently-used apparel for both girls and boys, ranging in size from infant to 16.
